I have2chickadee eggs that are incubater i tryed candleing them and there to white do you have any sugestions

my dad was roofing a house he had to replace an area of wood and he found them i then made an incubator and set it for 89-91 deg f i want to know if they are alive or not and if im wasting all this time for nothing i tryed to candle them and all i saw was the eggs white reflection does anyone have and tips on what tep it shoud be at and how many days it should take and if you know how to tell if there alive

  1. I've never incubated any native bird eggs before but your temps sound low to me.  I would think you need to be closer to 99 degrees.  

    It would probably take about 5 days to determine fertility BUT... if the eggs sat for long before being incubated, they are likely to die during development.

    Better question... what are you going to do with them if they hatch?  Are you experienced in handfeeding from day one?  It's very difficult to do, especially with something that size.


  2. well the eggs could have just been laid therefore  you wouldnt see anything, i would give them a good 2 weeks before tossing them out chek to see if ther are any bbies
