first of all: i'm not pregnant. i'm a virgin.

second of all: i don't do drugs, i'm not on birth control, and i don't take any medication.

okay so in the beginning of july i weighed 136. i'm 5'6" and i'm 17. i used to always eat really healthily during the week and then eat really unhealthily on the weekends. so i got stricter and started eating less and not breaking down on the weekends. now it's the middle of august and i weigh about 125. i never got my period in july and so far i haven't gotten it this month. at some point in july i had a little bit of blood one night after taking a bath, and then i had brown discharge (which i guess is dead blood?) for about 5 days after that. was that what replaced my usual period? i don't really know what that was about. it kind of scared me while it was going on but once it ended i stopped thinking about it. could i have missed my period as a result of losing weight? mind you i've also been kind of stressed. do you think solely losing about 10 pounds could have thrown off my cycle? i've never wished more for a period in my life. i'm getting so sick of thinking about this and wondering if something is wrong with me. if you have anything to say at all, please say it, i need all the answers i can get. thanks.

  1. Fast weight loss like you describe can mess with the body and periods are number one. Then lack of sleep, agitation, dizziness and lack of energy. Please start eating every three hours a small amount of healthy food. You will not gain weight, you will remain the same but you are pushing it with your weight because you are verging on underweight possibly anorexia. Eat healthy and regular.

  2. Doing something as simple as changing eating habits, being stressed or changing your sleeping pattern can throw your period off greatly. Its your body's sort of coping mechanism. (Not the greatest idea, if I do say so myself.) Try and do the same routine everyday in terms of eating and sleeping. Lower your stress level by doing things like taking a long bubble bath, reading a favorite book, doing yoga, or meditate. Freaking out more about your period will put you under more stress and may mess it up more. But if the problem persists, please see a doctor. No matter how many answers you get on here, a bunch of female teenagers telling you their opinion is no substitute for a real doctor! Hope you get better!

  3. hi

look my girl friend had the same problem!! from one year she weighted 64kg then she decide to lost her wheight for being more suitable.. and she started  also in summer (like your case) then after tow monthes she lost her period but she had blood every 3 or 5 days (so her period was confused!!) she directly meet a doctor and he told her some reason for this problems:

    1. the hot weather

2.food quantity (because she decreas her food quantity)

    3. food quality ( because when she decreas the quatity she changed quality also) for exemple if her boddy use to get artifichel suger she give him natural one!!

    4. ther are some psyshical problems like scared, confused, always thinking, love.... because all this psyshical cases may cause a hormonal confuse in the boddy and then cause the lost of period

i advise u to see your doctor cause suuuure ther are a chimical and physical helpers!!!
