I haven't grown taller in 3 years - should I be worried?

Hi,

I'm a 19 year old male and I'm 5'7" (170cm).

I haven't grown any taller in just about 3 years!

(i.e. This was my height at age 16.)

(I stopped playing sports such as badminton around about 3 years ago...)

Should I be worried? Is there any possibility of me growing taller? If so, how would I do it?

Thanks

  1. The most common age for people to stop growing is between 18-20, however this does vary with some people continuing to grow for longer or those who stop growing earlier. Did you happen to have a growth spurt earlier than others in your teens? How tall are you compared to your parents? Your genes play the most of the part with regards to your height. If you havent grown in 3 years then I wouldnt be expecting you to continue growing.

I wouldnt be worried as that is a pretty standard height, plus I can complain im 21 and im 147cm tall :)

  2. Males usually stop growing at 18 so you have probably reached your peak height already.  Further growth is possible but unlikely.

  3. You shouldn't be worried. You have overaverage height. See here http://amphimed.com/2008/07/some-facts-a...

You can grow taller, but in my opinion you needn't. To grow taller you can use some medications stimulating building of human growth hormone (HGH), for example these http://bisina.info/buy_human_growth_agen...

  4. Nope, sorry, if you haven't grown in 3 years then you haven't been eating your greens (just kidding), but seriously speaking, if you haven't even grown an inch in the last 3 years, then you won't just start growing all of a sudden.

  5. You might get a little taller, but I suspect you're done.
