I haven't renewed my plate sticker on my vehicle ,it was due in june .will it cost more ?

does anyone live in illinois that can answer this? my vehicle sticker was due in june but we didn't drive this vehicle .now i need to drive it will it cost more for the renewal sticker?

"License plates registration fees must be paid annually. A $20 late fee is assessed on plates renewed 30 days or more past the expiration date."

I knew this info was somewhere, because when registration expired on a camper normally parked on my property in WI, IL Sec. of State told me it would be cheaper just to wait a year and get new plates.

The only way to get around this is to call your local DMV and tell them the car was unoperable thourgh July and you might not get hit with that large a fine.

Can't answer for IL but in PA it's the same price.
