I haven't been able to sleep for 2 days and I don't know why. I was sleeping fine before and now I just can't. I've tried counting sheep, warm milk, no noise, droning noise, etc... everything except for medication. Why can't I sleep?

  1. isn't it the worst? actually, i've had the same problem, only it's been all week. i am so tired but i can't fall asleep, and then i'll lay awake for hours wondering why i can't sleep. i've even tried medication(benedryl) and still nothing. i wish so much that i can help you. by next week if this doesn't get better, i am going to see a doctor. i advise you do the same. i really hope you feel better because i know how horrible it is.

  2. It's awful isn't it?  Just awful.  The worst thing is now it's probably because you're *thinking* about not being able to sleep.  If you're in bed and you can't sleep, just get out and do something else, go read on the couch, watch the Olympics etc.

Normal things apply: avoid caffeine and alcohol. Don't eat too close to when you go to bed, or exercise late in the day (but exercise earlier in the day can help).

Most of the time when we can't sleep it's because we're worried about things. Is there something which is bothering you that's keeping you up? Try talking about it with someone, a friend, family member or a counsellor if you want to.

    Best of luck.

  3. Check under your bed for a pea or something . :O
