she's about 6 years old... perfectly healthy cat... never had anything wrong with her... very outdoorsy... was neutered as a kitten and vaccines were never mentioned... but i hear my friends have been saying they get their cats vaccinated every year. Should I too? is it too late?

  1. Get a blood test to make sure she doesn't have anything already.  If she's fine then get her the vaccinations.

If they never get exposed to disease then it never matters (except that a rabies vaccine is usually required by law).  Vaccines are like having insurance, it's better safe than sorry.

  2. of course you should vaccinate your cat!it s an outdoor cat and can carry lots of deceases

  3. 6yrs old! Your cat has  sooooooooooo long left, if your cat is an outdoor cat then it is very important to vaccinate, also it's worth fleaing and worming

  4. No, it's not too late.  But it will be if she comes back rabid one day, or doesn't come back at all.  There's really no reason not to get her vaccinated; even if she hasn't caught any diseases yet, there are so many of them in the outside world that it's possible anytime and not worth the risk.

  5. Don't delay any longer, she could get cat flu or feline AIDS from other cats especially wild feral cats.

  6. Had you said you cat was an indoor cat, I would not have been too overly concerned. However, because your cat is consistently outdoors and exposed to all that the outdoors has to offer, I strongly recommend that you get her vaccinated. There are so many things that she “could” get. And, though I am sure you and most of us reading are truly grateful that she has been healthy all these years, just imagine how you would feel IF something happened to her. At her age, if she fell ill it would be significantly harder for her to recover so why take the chance. Take her in to see the vet, and bring lots of treats and your patience.

    Regards

  7. she may be healthy now but anything can happen and its never to late to get her protected . if you cant afford the vet bill just think about how much it will cost if she gets seriously ill
