  1. Go to support groups for people with TB and testicular cancer.

  2. try drinking tea or taking some pills

  3. First, a person should make sure that the sleeping area is separate from the area that they do most of their waking activity in.  They need to keep it a special place to rest and get away.  It should be a comfortable and cozy spot.

Second, make sure that this spot is free from the temptation of  watching TV, listening to music, and any other distraction.  Reading may help but it should be light and enjoyable.  However, a person's mind should not experience stimulation of the sort that keeps them thinking.

Third, a person should not go to bed shortly after they eat.  They should allow at least 2 hours before doing so.  Also, watching what one eats if  important.  A person should obviously avoid caffeine and chocolate.  Spicy or greasy foods don't help much either.  Anything that requires a lot of time for digestion can only contribute to the lack of sleep.

Fourth, a person should not exercise shortly before going to bed.  A lot of wonderful chemicals and hormones are released in the body that can give a natural high.  That is good.  But not just before bed.  A person should allow at least 2 hours after exercising before going to sleep.

If simple techniques like I described don't work, There may be a more serious source of not being able to get to sleep.  It may be time for getting help from a medical professional.

One last thing that you have already mention.  Say your prayers before you go to sleep.  Maybe you are not a very religious person.  However, I have a deep and abiding  faith in God.  This action really works for me.

God bless.  Go with the grace of God.

  4. i haven't been able to sleep lately?

answer=do not go to sleep too late, and do not sleep on an empty stomach, eat something light and a glass of warm milk, also try not to think of problems, say your prayer, and i bet you will fall asleep.

      sweet dreams.

                my source,is myself.

  5. I know it sounds silly, but have you tried counting sheep?

    Another thing to try

Until it is time for you to retire for the night, don't sit, or relax on your bed.

When you wake up in the morning try not to do anything in the area that you sleep in.

    Try that.  Hopefully it helps!!

  6. Exercise, but not within 2 hours of bedtime. Have a warm bath, or shower, an hour before bedtime, then a glass of very warm milk, possibly with Horlicks, or one of the herbal teas, below, and use dimmer lighting. Put your mind in a position where it wants to shut itself off, and sleep. See insomnia treatments, in much more detail than can be included here, in section 3, at ezy build, below. Use one of the relaxation methods, in bed, after lights out, on pages 2, 11, 2.c, or 2.i, but they can take some time to learn, (progressive muscular relaxation excepted) so learn and become proficient in their use during the day.

An alternative is to use the EFT, in section 53, and pages 2.q, and 2.o, saying to yourself: "Even though I currently have a sleep disorder, I deeply and completely accept myself." (or choose your own wording) while you use the acupressure tapping. Some more; quick, and easy to learn, are at http://www.umm.edu/sleep/relax_tech.htm The progressive muscle relaxation, (most easily learned) guided imagery, and mindfulness breathing are known to be effective.

Find out which works best for you, in the daylight hours, so you will be prepared, come bedtime. For many people, a good idea is to develop a set "wind down" routine for the last hour before bedtime, so your subconscious mind learns that it is time to put thinking aside, and prepare for mindfulness, (awareness, without cogitation/purposeful thought) or the EFT, in preparation for sleep, but the idea with mindfulness is to not even think about sleeping: just drift off, naturally, during exercising those techniques.

Avoid TV, computer, or anything exciting in this hour, although reading a BORING! book is a good idea. I suggest that you try using the EMDR variant, below, prior to the mindfulness, or the progressive muscular relaxation, but after the EFT, if that method is chosen. Experiment, to find which combination works best for you.

In section 3: INSOMNIA: PAGE O - INSOMNIA: A COMPREHENSIVE POST a variant of Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing therapy is shown, which has been used successfully for those people suffering from insomnia, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and anxiety. It is easily learned, quick to use, yet can be very effective; although it is easy to be dismissive of such a seemingly unusual technique, give it a good tryout, for at least a few weeks, to see if it is effective in your case. I learned it from a book by a published clinical psychologist, and now use it every night, and find it works well.

Usually, I have a cup of chamomile herbal tea, an hour before bedtime, and employ many of the techniques in section 3. Others may prefer Sleepytime, by Celestial Seasonings, Relax, Be Sleepy, or valerian root, from supermarket tea, or health food aisles. Milk, or cream should not be used with herbal tea. http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris

  7. Before going straight to Ambien or the like, there are a few things you could try. For one, physical activity or exercise (yes, even for girls, no you won't develop huge gross muscles if you do it) can help you get to sleep easier.

You can also try not reading in bed, getting the whole mental association that 'bed = only for sleep'.

If your dog is a problem, perhaps try bonding with him/her more often. Dogs are used to a pack structure, which means they'll go to sleep when their 'pack leader' (hopefully you) goes to sleep. Your dog may also be a very outdoorsy one and barks at night because she/he wants to go outside more.

So take your dog on a walk and bring a book along I guess =)

  8. eat celery natural sleep aid

  9. you probably have insomnia. You will eventually have to fall though, your body can't function without sleep so you will pass out eventually.
