ive had my period consistently for about four years. four months ago i started eating unhealthily (only consuming about 400 calories a day). i stopped getting my period in june and i figured it was because i was eating so little and exercising intensively. but then in july i started eating normally again (a balanced diet) and i still havent gotten my period. its been three months! im afraid i messed something up permanently! can you tell me whats going on?

ps. i know i should prob go to a doctor

  1. 400 calories i eat 4000

  2. You  need  to  go  to  the  doctor  if  you  did  not  sleep  with  any  one  its  a  big  problem.

  3. Your body has to have a certain level of fat stores or you will not ovulate.  If you're not ovulating, you won't menstruate.  Once you've brought your body back up to a normal weight, you will resume menstruating.

  4. omg this is exactly what happened to me i dieted and over exercised too much and i lost my period after having it for 2 years. i haven't had it since december and now it's almost september and it still hasnt come back. yes u should deffinately see a doctor. you have the early signs of anorexia. dont keep up with eating dissorder behaviors. they lead u to the hospital. trust me i was in the hospital for 2 weeks on bed rest having to be feed through a tube. EEEWWW!!! and then u never get to see ur friends or family. just gain a few pounds (ik u dont want to) but the reason why u lost ur period is because ur body is in starvation mode and it can't use up any extra energy, so it stops having ur period. tell ur mom. dont let this become out of controll like me. gaining just a few lbs. ( back to ur weight when u had ur period

) would be the best thing to do, if u dont do it now ur going to eventually have to. you should deffinately see a nutritionist. i hope u dont become like me. Godd Luck!!!! stay healthy!!!

  5. your body went through extreme changes in a short amount of time....just keep eating healthy, and dont change your diet, and you should get it again
