  1. in India certain places r not safe ofcourse i stay in Hyderabad where 2 bomb blasts have taken place but i feel ok .

in the country no terrorism ,u may njoy there .

  2. well are u staying w/ a relative or a friend??? if you are not going to stay w/ some1 who you know and who is safe you should not go

  3. you must go to India and will find your friends incorrect.India is much more safe ,open and enjoyable than you found 6 years back.

  4. Well it depends which city you want to visit... and how are you travelling,

delhi and mumbai are somewhat not safe for a girl who has nt been there, and dont go to Bihar and UP.

    rest is fine.

  5. its safe.

    welcome 2 India.

  7. Hi, just to assure you, India is a very safe place to visit but my observations/reservations are as follows:

1)life becomes a lot easy if you know the system in any situation..there are NO clear cut instructions to guide a stranger through...eg.buying any travel tickets. hiring any kind of transportation, asking directions then becomes very risky because of some undesirables trying to exploit your venerable situation.only way to avoid the pitfalls is to have local, reliable help.

2)you have got to get used to strangers staring at you..do not even smile at them ..it can be seen as a come-on signal...

3)dress modestly..you come from abroad, so what..you still have to realise that foreign rules/etiquette does not apply here.

4)apart from these points, India is a wonderful place, go enjoy your holiday, and let the experience hit you!

  8. its safe confirm your ticket and start pack your bags

  9. there are no dangers. don't worry!

  10. It is safe. If you have contacts in India let them know you are coming and ask them to provide basic stuff for you.. I think there is nothing to get so much worried in India.. You can call police if some one really bothers you.. If you are a foreigner they will help you for sure..

  11. be very secured with some around you always as it will make you comfortable. India not everyone is bad but you need to be awre lonelyness is the only opportunity for shaitans !!

  12. Good to take a 'safety first'

1)A woman alone is a bad idea! Please get in touch with your relatives and make sure you have a 2-3 female companions and elderly people with you always.

2)Terrorism is everywhere and only a fraction has affected India when compared to attacks on other countries(WTC-PENTAGON etc.)

3)I am a tour operator and I handle around 10-25 tourist  everyday. They are all happy and feel India to be a safe place.

    CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  13. does your insurer asks for any extra? if yes-don't visit,

    if no - then visit

  14. It is India, you are safe, please inform when you are coming.

  15. You have to be very very careful ! Take precautions like never pick a taxi just like that. Take help of the hotel. Stay in a known , established hotel. The moment you suspect anything fishy , contact a police PCR !

  16. y?! yes India is safe dear...

  17. You ask your friend except mother's lap which country in this world is safe !!

  18. It was 6 yrs since I went before summer. Trust  me, India made me SOOOO happy!! Who cares if you're going alone? I think you're fine. Most ppl know english there soo it's fine, trust me. If some tries to attack you, yell "THEIF! GET 'EM" and seriously, a million ppl will come running and thrash the guy hahah awesome right?

    hope this helps

  19. ]if you want to go to india by heart then you listen you heart voice.and your friends forget them what they are saying, the feb month is safe for you journey.

  20. Well, India is far safer than any other place.  Do not look at the crime graphs.  They tell you only half truths.  For the population of India the absolute number of crimes would come as a miniscule percentage.

I am not aware of the places you want to visit or the number of days you want to spend.  If you have no local contacts, best would be contact ITDC, India Tourism Development Corporation for an all-India view or just the State Tourism Development Corporations (state name + tourism development corporation) in  gmail. You woul have a safe trip.

  21. I have moved around many countries and am of opinion that India is among the safest place to move. Take my word.

I guess you wish to visit some tourist sites. All shall be generally occupied by a fair to large number of people, so nothing to worry. unless you wish to be alone, you will have a crowd nearby.

Indians have a high sense of respect. Unless you provoke, you shall not be teased etc..

At well-known places a good breed of guides will be there.

To be more sure, avoid visiting highly lonesome places and less popular places.

Eat at decent places, drink bottled water, be well informed about the places so you don't have to ask repeatedly, book your journeys to the extent possible..these are among general suggestions.

If you need any specific details, e-mail me, I am in India only.

  22. perfectly safe. no worries

  23. It is perfectly safe provided you observe basic precautions for a single woman such as not going out at night alone, not being skimpily clad etc.

It also depends where you are planning to visit.  Obviously its much safer if you have company, even one more person would do, but if you are alone you can always book an organised tour that takes you everywhere in a group - may be not so nice but certainly safe.

  24. hmm.. its really sad to know tht people who are abroad are having this notion tht india is not safe.. but i guess u have been in india before..and thts good.. so make a trip to india this time this time and after going back, dont forget to correct the person who told u its unsafe.. am sure u wil..: )

  25. Depends where you want to go. If you are careful, there is no reason to be afraid.

  26. Itz safe in India. u cn surely come.
