My wife and I wish to travel to Asia for around a month, where nature is fantastic, where there is good food, where the acomodations are nice and the prices are not expensive. Our plan is to travel around, perhaps to several bordering countries, but always keep these requirements as priorities. We hear Thailand is tops (particularly Ko Phi Phi) however with the political conflect is this a bad time to go, and or there other places better.

Thank you for your considerations.

David

Thanks

  1. See 1,000's of current Thailand photos at http://www.visualthailand.com and you will know right away how beautiful the nature is here. Check out Koh Chang photos as cheaper and better alternative to Phi Phi. More fun as well.

As far as the political conflict, it will have absolutely no effect on your trip at all.

  2. well there no problem travelling to Thailand at this time , you can book online www.atsiam.com for less expensive hotels. Phi Phi Island is good ,there also others Island nearby which has nice scenery.

  3. I've lived in Thailand for 21 years now and  travelled to many different provinces and have never felt threatened in any way. Thailand is safe, but like anywhere in the world you need to be sensible...don't go to areas where there is political protests, or to certain areas of the deep south where their is some unrest. Avoid anything illegal

Thailand is a very beautiful country and quite diverse, due to the distance from north to south, and varying cultures. In the north you can find a very traditional way of life, and the hillside scenery is fabulous. In the southern province of Satun I would reccommend the Tarutao Islands still relatively unspoilt by tourism, or close to Phuket,  Similan Islands for diving,  The major tourist attractions, Phuket, Phi Phi are beautiful, and at this time of the year not too busy. In Phuket take a boat ride out to the surrounding islands such as Bon, Coral, Raya I'm sure you'll not be disappointed!

There are many hotels to choose from, but think about trying something smaller where the service is more personal and you can get to meet the locals!
