I am a beginner and want a beginners board. What kind of board would I have to ask for? Right now I only want to be on mountains and on beginners slopes. If I get better than maybe I will upgrade to something better.

So what exactly do I need to ask for? Also I am 5'11 150lbs with a shoesize of 10. Do I need a wideboard?

THANKS

  1. with a shoe size of 10 you shouldn't need a wide board.  Make you get the shop people to help you check your setup to ensure there isn't too much boot "over hang" on your board.  They should know what I mean: it is hard to explain how much is OK.

When starting out, a beginner board is fine: you can lean on something inexpensive.  If you decide to go for a better board to start on, I would suggest a "directional freestyle" board.  This is one that will be easier to ride toward your front foot but will be less stiff than an "all mountain" board.

    Good luck & have fun!

  2. If your just starting out you should definetly go with an all mountain board probably a realiable brand such as Burton Forum Option Etc. and make sure that its the right size in between your eyes and your lips.

  3. I would choose freeride or all mountain board...and start out withone that is no taller than your chin(that is best for a beginner)..here is a calculator: http://frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.h...

I hope it helped a little.....;) good luck on the slopes=)
