whats a good swimming exercise routine to work on to build up my muscles and endurance and all that good stuff?

but my problem is that even when swimming for a few min i already get tired and want to stop. Should i be swimming a few laps, taking a few min break, and then do more laps, repeat?

  1. swimmings great for losing weight or building up a hott bod.

i suggest starting out with a 100 then taking a 7 second rest then building by 100 to a 1000...if thats to hard try a 700

don't take long breaks though, the point is to let your body relax for a while and then keep on swimming so you don't die of exhaustion or something..but if u rest for too long you won't really build muscle

  2. I used to swim 3-4 miles during 2 a day practices while I was on my swim team.

Basically, just keep going. You get used to it.

  3. Yea swimming is great exercise, just swimming lengths alone would improve stamina and muscles. I usually just swim non-stop for 30-40 mins or 1500 - 1000metres 3-4 times a week. The great thing about swimming is the less used you are to doing it the fitter it will make you. Try not to rest too much in between lengths because then you won't be giving your muscles much of a workout. If I do find myself getting too tired I just do a length of breaststroke and then switch back to freestyle. Don't push yourself to do too much but make sure that it isn't too easy. you might want to experiment a bit first and find whats right for you and then increase as you progress.
