  2. I'm not suprised you heard this because of the dropped call issues with the iPhone. However, this is due from the chipset in the iPhone, made by Infineon Technologies, a German chipmaker, and not a software issue. Nonetheless, newmakers state a firmware upgrade will be available via iTunes in about a week - but who knows. There are a lot of articles on this subject, below.
