I heard Favre was traded to Tampa for Griese and a draft pick...anyone know if this is true?

I agree, once a deal is made - we will all know about it - LOUD and CLEAR.

According to ESPN radio here in Dallas today, Bret has indicated that he could be willing to consider the Bucs and Jets now. It was also stated that Favre also wanted to keep his private dressing area, shower and restroom if he were to come back and "compete" for his position and this was not offered. Coach McCarthy essentially said “I'm not doing the PR thing anymore” and “The train has left the station, whatever analogy you want", also on ESPN’s site.

The radio shows indicated that the team felt that it was not a situation where the player was committed to the team enough but more interested only in how committed the team was to him.

I would bet that something will be done this week or it will really get crazy.

The only thing we seem to know with certainty is that Favre isn't going to play for Green Bay.  For all we know, he might decide to retire AGAIN.

As of 12:15am EST it hasn't been reported on ESPN.com and it would certainly be all over the live ESPN news if so. I have heard that the Bucs are close to a deal for Favre and the compensation mentioned above would be logical. So to my knowledge not yet, but I wouldn't be shocked at all.

I read that trade talks are; 'heating up', but no official news (yet) that he will be heading to Tampa.

Griese? wow, if that is all they had to give for favre then tampa practicaly stole him, but i doubt it happend but i do think he will be traded, it would be awesome to see a three way trade with the vikings except for the fact that my team (bears) would have to face an even tougher vikings team then they already are especially after taking out WR Berrian..... WHY BERNARIAN???? WHYY!?!?!

from what ive heard on ESPN news, Favre has spoken to both Jets and Bucs about trade. Nothing is official
