I heard I need receipt for my laptop if I fly with it to prove to Customs its mine. (Flying to Germany.)?

Do I really need to have the receipt with me? I heard that an alternative would to be to go to customs earlier and have my laptop "checked in" so they have a record of it. Also, any advice for making flight to Germany more comfortable? I will be on plane approximately 9 hours.

Are you allowed to play games on your laptop while you are flying? Thinking that really could help pass the time.

Any tips concerning flying and the laptop are all appreciated!

  1. it is better because if any thing happens then they can handle it some times.

yes, you are allowed to play games in the airplane but not during take off and landing.

it is better to take with you headphones and extra battery for your laptop. and a mouse.

  2. if you're thinking of buying a laptop you should check out this site first. they give you a sony vaio laptop for FREE! all you need to do is complete a few quick tasks for them.

  3. It's not a requirement, but it would be a good idea to have it just in case there's any question.  (It's just about having to pay duty on it when you return home if they think you bought it in Germany.)

Yes, you can play games, watch movies, anything you want on your laptop during the flight.  You just have to turn it off during takeoff and landing.

When you go through security, you have to take the laptop out of its case and put it separately in a bin, so have it readily accessible while you're in the security line.
