Im looking at this one camera, the kodak v1273. It has a 3 inch touch screen with high definition. Lots of people says kodak cannot be compared to Sony, or Cannon. They also say that you cant see the LCD in the sunlight. Anyone one have others suggestions or any ideas. Thanks

  1. kodak is a good quality camera for the more expencive ones that they sell..... just stay away from the kodak easy share and the cheaper ones like those.... the one that you are getting is a pretty good one

  2. That is a complete NO.

Kodak is rated 2 in consumer reports.

Also we have a Kodak DX6490.  it is the best camera we have ever had, and it takes excellent pictures.

Also if you are going to buy a sony, DONT I have had 7 different sony products, had them for 3 years and they all broke.  Cannon is a top of the line one though, and I also prefer Samsung.  I have a samsung S730 and it takes excellent photos and videos.  If you were going to choose between Cannon, Sony and Kodak, I reccomend Kodak then Cannon, then Sony.

  3. Kodak does not suck, it's actually rather good.

The only thing I would say about Kodak is that most of their stuff is geared towards the new user or less advanced.

  4. I've only had kodak cameras and I love them! Kodak is known for being very user friendly. My sister has a Sony and she hates it. Pick a camera that is going to do the things you need and want it to do.

  5. That's a load of C***! Kodak are the best around! They've been going for years and they produce very good quality cameras

  6. Kodak pioneered Digital SLR's.

Their new generation P&S cameras contain much of the newest technology in the sensor design arena.

To know for sure, take a SD or SDHC card with you into a store that sells the v1273, Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Casio and others that use the SD card and do some tests.  Then take your card home and look at the images on your computers large screen (much better than trying to decide looking on a tiny 2.5 inch LCD)

Then you will know which camera is best for you.

  7. Canon and Nikon are really the two best manufacturers, IMO. Others will work, but I feel these two companies make the best cameras overall.

  8. Kodak is good but it depends on what you are looking for. If you looking for a top-knotch picture, then you should go with Canon or Fujifilm. A lot of Kodak cameras have trouble adjusting to the sunlight for daytime pictures also. Fujifilm and Canon both have better quality for daytime and nighttime pictures. Nikkon is also a good company if you want to invest on their $700-$1500 cameras. I had a kodak and it was good for the time being but I like my new current camera the Fujifilm Finepix Z10
