  1. I am sorry but you have the wrong info .Paris is one of my favorite cities.

  2. It's a wonderful city.  I love it and can't wait to go back.  It's definitely not boring -- there's always something going on.  As for smelling bad, I think it smells the same as any other large city.  Don't let other people's opinions make up your mind -- go there and decide for yourself!

  3. This is the first time I have ever heard of Paris as boring!

In my life! In any place I have ever been!

It is one of the world's top cities. It can only be compared with the likes of New York, London and Tokyo.

The smelly part is kind of true. But then again it can be compared favorably to New York or London. (Tokyo smells fine). It's called pollution. If you meant the kind of back alley stench or sewage odor, no they aren't in Paris.

  4. Since you asked for my thoughts I would think that the people from whom you hear such things about Paris are ignorant second rate little Babbitty bourgeoisie..

No doubt such people find the priceless works of art found in the wealth of museum in Paris boring. The uneducated typically have no taste for great art.

And I suppose that the vast number of music venues bore them since there are none that I know of that feature Country and Western music. Indeed, its surprising how many brilliant American Jazz musicians make their way to Paris because their art isn't sufficiently appreciated back home.

The heritage of architecture to be found in Paris goes over their heads of those from whom you hear these things because their idea of great architecture is a sterile, mass produced suburban "modern colonial" with a two car garage filled with "genuine Naugahyde" furniture

And as for food, well, I can well understand that real bread, cheese that isn't shrink wrapped (pasteurized processed!), and cuisine that doesn't depend on the microwave fills them with fear and trepidation. Besides, being ignorant provincials, they can't speak a word of French and so are at a total loss when it comes to reading a menu.

One can only hope that they will do everyone a favor by staying at home and leaving their betters alone.

  5. Boring and smelling - YES  - unbearable because of overcrowding stinking tourists

  6. No, that is not true.

  7. There's nothing boring about Paris and it smells like every big city
