I heard Six Flags Gurnee now charges a dollar to put your stuff in a bin at the ride. How does this work?

you put your stuff into a locker on rides and its a one time open/close thing. once you close it you have 2 hours before your time is over. Once you open the locker your time is over.

You pay a dollar to rent a locker for 2 hours...

At the end of 2 hours the locker unlocks and your stuff is fair game...

Such a rip off... I just leave things in the car..

This is how they do it at Six Flags Magic Mountain.  They are probably the same.  In front of the entrance to a ride there are lockers.  You go to them and put money in a change machine.  It gives you dollar coins and you put one in a slot that will be on the side of the lockers.  Then a paper will come out with a combination and a locker will swing open.  You get the ticket, put your stuff in the locker and close it.  Make sure you don't put your ticket in there because you will need it after the ride.  Also make sure all your items that you want to go in the lockers go in there because once you open the locker once you can't use it again unless you use another coin.  So after the ride the exit will lead you to the locker and you scan your ticket on a scanner.  Then the locker will swing open and you can get your stuff.  Again make sure you get all your things out of the locker before you close it or else you cannot get it back.  You probably won't have to do this a lot because they only have lockers for a couple of the extreme rides.  On the other rides you can just put your stuff in a shelf in the station.

At most of the roller coasters there are workers telling you that you can't get on with any bags or big items. It's 1 dollar per ride and it can be in there for 2 hours. You put the dollar in and the locker automatically opens. Save your receipt to scan at the end. You can also get a 9 dollar locker at the front of the park all day.
