I heard a viscious rumor today that old navy stores were closing worldwide. say it aint so?

i would assume its not true, thinking it would be all over the news. i just happened to hear it at work today. im sure its some dumb rumor... right?

I have NOT heard that yet...How you could find out is to call the Navy stores in your area...That way you would know for sure!!!

they are downsizing and some of the larger flagship stores are closing... not all are closing.. just some of the larger shops.

No The rumor is false. They just changed their name to New Army and starting May 9th all the clothes in the store will have to contain pink.

Okay...I did a bunch of research on it. Old Navy is NOT closing (sigh of relief!). They were about .3 million down in sales compared to last year, at the end of the fiscal year in January...but that's retail for you...and all retail is suffering right now, not just Gap Inc.

From what I understand, Gap Inc. is going to be closing OTHER stores (not all of them...just the ones that aren't profitable) and focusing more on the Old Navy line.
