There were laws supposed to go in effect requiring a passport to enter the U.S. from Mexico. Is this true? I am not to sure wether this is 100% required.

  1. The rules for the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative right now state that American citizens traveling by land (versus plane) from Mexico must show either a birth certificate PLUS a legal photo ID (such as a driver's license), OR a U.S. passport.

  2. As of right now you need a passport if you are traveling by air. If traveling by land or sea, you have until June 2009.

  3. This is 100% sure, you can travel to México from USA with out visa or passport, but whenever you try to come back to USA they will ask you at least you ID if you are american citizen, if you are migrant better have ready your passport and everything necessary to come back.
