  1. It's never a good idea to feed raw chicken to anything. You may have heard turkey, because some lizards can eat raw turkey. [Not snakes though...] But not raw chicken by any means. Raw chicken can carry salmonella and it's just not worth the risk.

Not to mention, the nutritional value from raw chicken for a burmese python is slim to none. Rats/rabbits are best for him, the snake gets nutrients from the skin, fur, teeth... everything. Raw chicken is just a bad idea in general. Stick to rats or rabbits for the big guy, he'll appreciate it.

  2. Have seen it done.  You will need to scent the meat with rabbit or rat fur.  It is a pain in the butt and really only serves the purpose of attempting to increase snake's growth.  Messy, pain, not really cheap either.  I would not recommend it.

  3. Yeah I used to use live chicks,,,it don`t hurt.

  4. I wouldn't give it a raw piece of chicken breast. I highly doubt a snake would eat raw meat. Snakes may eat carion, but not chunks of meat.  You could give it a baby chick or as it gets older, a adult chicken.
