I heard some buses from DC to NY (and back) offered free internet. Is that true? ?

Yep.  There are several bus companies that offer free internet service now.  And the best part is that they are cheaper than Greyhound (and obviously Amtrack too!).  It's about $20 from DC to NY, $35 RT and you can even book online.  The easiest way I found was to go to BUS-DC-NY.COM (see the link below), do a search, and you'll see all the buses that match your search.  The ones that offer free internet service will have a little symbol next to them.  Then you just have to pick the bus you want, the time you want to leave, buy your ticket online and reserve your seat.  Hope this helps!
