I have heard this so many times.

Is it true a small fry in America is equal to a large fry in France. And by fry, I mean a serving of fries that you get at McDonalds.

If this is true, I would like to see pics, I can't find any when searching "mcdonalds small vs france large"

Thank you!

  1. Yea, the portions in the US what fast food is concerned are a well-known myth in Europe, and I think it is true.

In a lot of places (in continental Europe at least) the meals go up to a medium (or sometimes large) but these are nothing compared to the American sizes.

And the prices are outrageous. In Switzerland a small big mac menu is $12 USD!

  2. Yes it's true...

  3. yeah probably.

  4. It's probably true.  We are so driven by large portions in America.... sooo sad.

  5. true

  6. It's probably true, but with our economy, pretty soon our portions will become very conservative as well.

Other countries conserve so much, and soon we will have to as well. Ordering nachos at a restaurant will no longer be that huge, 12-person platter. Instead it will be more like the movie theater portions.

  7. Small in America is PETIT in France.

  8. it's sort of true.  they definetly don't have a super size fries or drink lol.

when i went there a few months ago our medium is like there large.  you can also get cold beer at some locations and our small drink is like there medium.  and i think a double big mac might give a french person a heart attack lol.

  9. this is true. in ireland an American small is a medium or large. also the mcflurry cups in ireland are the size of a small cup in America while the American ice creams are in the same as a large cup across the pond.

its crazy. its also much cheaper in the USA

  10. John Travolta explains it all in the movie "Pulp Fiction" along with a mouth watering description of a Royale with Cheese. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
