I heard that booking a cruise last minute can save you lots of money?

I need to book a cruise in late June and they are pretty pricey around that time. Should I wait to book closer to the date to get the best possible deal?

You can make a great deal a few weeks before sailing date. If you want a particular itinerary or a specific cabin you need to book further out. If you're flexible you're lucky. However if you need airfare, that gets more expensive as you get closer. I always start my research at vacations to go. I can see if the price has dropped yet and where each ship sails.

If there is an open ship you might get a deal ..but June is a heavy cruising month.  it's just before the Hurricane season and when all the kids get out of school.

I think once upon a time that was true, but not so much anymore. Sometimes the ships are full several months before they even sail. Too many people in love with cruising.  You sure can't be choosy about what cabin you get if you wait till the last minute.

Lots of times the prices go way up instead of down.

For a June cruise, you should book now.  

It is high season and most ships are already sold out.

DO NOT wait until the last minute or you will be left at the port.  Even though there are a large number of ships and cruise lines now, they do sell out.  Or, you may not want what is left to choose from.  The price will not likely go down either.  Your best bet is to book early, be flexible with the date that you want to go, and search all of the cruise lines to see who is offering a "deal".  I have cruised many times and I always book my cruise as early as possible, like a year in advance.

As it is you are almost too late for a June cruise.  Go to the cruise lines listed below and SHOP for a deal.
