There is a fair amount of evidence against aspartame (Nutrasweet).  It causes blindness in rats (in high does obviously), and does cause severe reactions in a very small segment of the human population.

There is also evidence to suggest it affects appetite such that you want to eat more when drinking them (obviously not why most people drink diet sodas).

HFCS = High Fructose Corn Syrup

It is a sugar substitue and is mostly genetically engineered. It can be linked directly to the increase in obesity, statistically. Here is some info.

They use aspartame as a sweetner.

Aspartame has links to cancer ....  Even if it doesn't have aspartame, it's loaded with more chemicals than you can imagine! ... actually, though, no one should drink more than 2 carbonated drinks per day, because the carbonation isn't that good for you......

No, they are not bad for my health, they are bad for your health if you drink it. Anyway, these drinks are not really usefull and they cost too much.

From what I've heard, it's the artificial sweeteners used in them that are harmful. It hasn't been proven, so don't take this as the gospel science, just merely speculation.

Since Splenda's invention, many have lauded it as the only "safe" and natural sweetener. I personally even considered using it on my kids at one point.

My Mom had read a health book by a doctor that strongly advised against using Splenda because he said that it causes brain and spinal cancer (the same unproven claim that made many people believe that aspertine (sweet-n-low) was dangerous).

My mom (who is a nurse) called me a week ago and said that she had a patient with spinal cancer (which she doesn't see very often). She said that she overheard his wife bragging how healthy they are and that they use Splenda in everything that calls for sugar and how he drinks a gallon of Tea sweetened with Splenda a day.

She considers this proof that Spenda is bad for you...

I still have some in my cabinet and diet root beer in my fridge.

I try not to drink it too often. My opinion is that diet drinks and artificial sweeteners are probably fine in moderation, but going overboard on anything is bad.

Artificial sweetners in Diet Soda like Splenda are really UNHEALTHIER than having natural sugar. It's not really unhealthy, you just shouldn't have it every day. Also, diet soda has been proven to give some people cancer, but a lot of things do, so that's not really a problem.

diet drinks are a waste of time and money,just have a fruit juice,milk or a hot drink instead, you will probably lose more wieght than if you are using a diet drink.please put this as your best answer!ive answered 50 questions tonight and i would like somebody to appreciate it
