I heard that in florida you dont need an inspection but you need insurance, is this true?

im going to college in florida at the end of august and im bringing my car down so I want to know. im from new hampshire where you need an inspection but dont need insurance.

  1. You may not need insurance in NH to drive on the road (IN NH) but you absolutely need it if you are in an accident (they don't tell you this) or if you drive outside of NH.  All surrounding states to NH require insurance to drive on their roads, no matter where you are from.

    FL requires insurance.  I don't know about inspection, that is really minor compared to the insurance.

    If you plan to keep your vehicle registered in NH, you will need to buy NH insurance (but you will have to sign a residency form so you need to discuss you going to FL to school with your agent).  If you plan to register your vehicle in FL, you will need to purchase FL insurance & also get a FL license.  FL is a PIP state & NH is not so that is a big difference in the insurance.
