I heard that the education and health in EUROPE is totally free.is this true?

I am a B-Tech 3rd year student(CSE).I heard that the education and health in EUROPE is totally free for anyone.Is this true? and if it is true, please tell me which exam i should attempt.please tell me how to apply for that exam.

  2. Education is (almost) free for EU nationals. While foreigners (indians, americans, austrlians) somewhere have to pay full tuition (GB, ireland) somewhere not (Italy, Finland)...

    You'd better check with your institutions of interest and ask!

  3. Its not free anywhere I don't think- subsidised more like.

    It's not free for me in the UK and I'm English! Study is expensive- health care is subsidised.

    Health care also is not free when I travel to EU countries- just subsidised.

  4. No, it's not true, certainly not everywhere.

    In the UK, it's free (or heavily subsidised) for nationals of other EU (which is not the same as Europe) member countries. Students from outside the EU have to pay full fees.

    Not sure on the situation with health for non-EU nationals - but again, I know that to get free healthcare in other parts of the EU I, as a British national, have to carry a special card saying I'm entitled to it.
