I heard that tony stewart and Jr might join to make a race team is this true?

This was a rumor that got started by the media trying to get Tony to divulge what his plans are in the future and when he and Jr subsequently have been asked about it they have both laughed at the thought Jr isn't going to bring a former champion in knowing that they would be a start up team and have to qualify he said that himself.

Money is the key here.  They could make a load of cash doing something together. But they can make just as much, alot easier own their own.  Two big names, two big egos, could lead to disaster.  I like both of them, but friends and money don't always mix.

If Jr brings his team to cup it will be one of MANY options for for Stewart. Like any first year team they would still struggle but it would be a good situation in the long run....Jr still wouldnt leave Hendrick though.

I believe that if a person is going to have a business they need to keep family and friends separate. They would both be better off pursuing teams of their own. Too much confusion for 2 big names.

It'd be ok with me.  I don't think they'd actually be teammates though.  Jr is under HMS contract for 4 more years.  The rumor is based on Jr saying instead of running JR Motorsports in the Nationwide Series in 09 he might just move it up to the Cup Series.  And there has been word Stewart might come on board as a part-owner/driver...

I SERIOUSLY doubt that it will happen though.
