Actually, we use 100% of our brains. An ordinary human uses about 10% for conscious thought. Much of your brain is devoted to unconscious functions. The visual cortex alone takes up one third of the brain. The human brain is extremely plastic; it can change and adapt whenever necessary. For instance, when someone loses their sight, the visual cortex becomes part of the auditory cortex, giving that person a heightened sense of hearing. Some people can use more than 10% of their brain for conscious tasks, which makes them highly intelligent, but *sorry* not telepathic. We can convert more of our brain matter into "thinking" material by stimulating it. This doesn't mean doing a million crossword puzzles. Although such activities are beneficial to developing knowledge and memory, the only way to physically change your brain is to force it to perform a new activity. Learning a new language for instance. Believe it or not, physical exercise is also key to mental health.

It is a fact that we use our entire brain but not all of it is engaged at the same time. And no one has died from using their head. Just the opposite.
