I heard there is a site called freecycle.org. I signed up for that site and now I don't see where to buy?

I signed up for that too, once you're accepted i think you go in the group and theres a forum-type thing with all the stuff. At first i was getting updates of the items through my email.

It's a pretty cool site, my dad has gotten quite a few things from it, and we've also given things.

If you signed up and were approved the group you signed up with should show up in your my groups list.

You are not allowed to sell or buy anything on any freecycle group.  It is strictly for giving things away or asking for things you need in an effort to keep things out of landfills.

Basically recycling things that can still be used.

You sign up for group(s) closest to or in your home town.

Sign in to the group that you joined and click on Messages located on left side of page.  If you see an offer of something you are interested in, just click on the subject to open the message.  If you are interested, click on Reply and write why you want it, then click Send.  It will go to the one offering item.  If that person wants to give it to you, he/she will email you back to make arrangements for you to pick it up.

Freecycle groups are not about buying and selling. You join a freecycle group to offer stuff you no longer need and ask for stuff-- all for free.  Charging members for items is against guidelines and is not allowed. There is never any money exchanged. The purpose is to recycle household items to keep it from being thrown away and landing up in community landfills.

You should have received emails from Freecycle group which would have included guidelines on posting messages for offers and wanted stuff.  You can also sign in to the Yahoo Freecycle group that you joined and click on Files.  Read the Guidelines for more information.
