  1. It's to help subdue the hijackers :-)

Seriously though, it is in case of a crash landing where the door may become blocked and it is necessary to break your way out.

  2. It is used to break the window after the plane lands ...in the case of emergency ...like fire etc... so the pilots can get out....also would come in handy for defence...

  3. where is the ****pit of a plane?  Is that ridiculous or what?

  4. Not to axe people down in the plans while flying at 30k feet for sure :-))... well they are definitely used to axe something... but not when the plane is at that height but when the plane is on the ground and they need to break free of a non-functional door (jammed door i wanted to say).

that's when they smash the window.

  5. It's the pilot's chopper.

  6. Did you watch Mock the Week on Dave last night to?

  7. fire wood

  8. For use after a crash-landing, if the usual exits aren't available.

  9. Landing is the most dangerous exercise in flying a plane. Most fires occur just after landing and that is when the axe in the ****pit may come into use. Do not be so scared of the axe nor the place where it is kept, which is the cockpit. Both are harmless to you and mighty useful things for everyone on the plane.

  10. only used in a crash landingor any other emerancys on land

  11. you been told lies then, but they are there

  12. It is for cutting people down to size.

  13. I take it as though it is to break the windows, but I don't actually know the answer. I just saw this question and thought that I wanted to know the answer too, so I gave it a star!

    :)
