  1. all I know is my left arm gets tanner than my right in the summer and I always have my AC on

  2. not true in my car, my left arm is much darker then my right.

  3. It's true.

  4. You could always roll down the windows or buy a convertible if you want a tan that bad.

  5. only of you have that special film thing on your glass..regular glass doesnt  protect you..

  6. True.. glass blocks UV rays ..

  7. False, glass alone will not block UV rays at all.  Cars may come with a protective coating on the glass... but usually in the form of a visibly dark tint.  Though there may be a few exceptions to the rule, typically dark tint means UV protection / clear glass does not.

Also, since the actual roof of the car provides a great deal of protection from the sun about the only thing that receives a constant source of direct sun light is your arm.  Thus, it is possible to get "burned" if your arm is exposed in a car for several hours.

However, getting an actual "tan" requires avoiding a burn entirely and only forms after several small periods of direct sun light exposure for days/weeks.  I suppose if you were a semi-truck driver or UPS delivery person, you could develop a "tan" on one arm... if that's the look you were going for.

  8. Well i dont know about the new cars blocking it but i know the older cars dont. I do deliveries all the time and because of that one arm is more tan then the other =/

  9. It blocks some of the rays and thats only in the back seat where the windows are tinted, the driver and front seat pasenger can get a tan, back seat passengers can also get sundamage but not as severe

  10. Yes it is true but if you hang your arm out you will get atan on that arm

  11. its partially true ,now days most cars have tinted glass that blocks out about 50% or more of the uv rays ,some cars still dont have enough factory tint to them though, good luck.

  12. True for most all newer cars. My transition lenses haven't worked for driving since the 60's:(

  13. False

  14. In the US one of the most common places to get skin cancer is on the left arm/side of face. Because thats were the sun hits strongest.  If you have tinted windows then far less light will get in. Non tinted glass blocks little of the suns rays. Your skin might darken a bit on your left side, though the effect is not the same as it would be if you were out in the sun.

  15. Most cases.... yep!! x

  16. Most glass on cars are anti-UV tinted.  But not all.

    so it is true.

    good Luck...

  17. false. you get a one sided tan,
