I hit a jackpot at a casino and took my ticket to the cashier for payment. The next time I came, when I got the the machine I wanted to play two employees walked up to me and said that the last time I was there they overpaid me $100 and wanted to know what I was going to do about it. I was devistated because I was so happy to win the money I didn't count it again afterwards. I had prior to that winning won $250 on another machine so all the money was put together and I played different machines. Having no ideal what had happened I asked how they had proof. They stated it wasn't my fault but it was on a tape. The third time I came to the casino they had my name flagged and when I left another employee followed me to my car and asked if I could come in and talk to them. I asked if I could see the tape before paying the money back and they state they can't let me see it. I don't have a problem paying back if they could show me proof but they state they can't show me the tape.

  1. doesn't sound right to me either.   and why  wasn't security called if you wanted proof?  i would notify security prior to arrival  of the casino   and let them know what is going on. maybe they can give you tips to notify them if you should be approached again.   and to follow you to your car...  i would think i was gonna get mugged.   now they have a copy of your liciense tag and can find out where you live.   i would be concerned.

  2. I have trouble believing this story.....However, if true, change casinos.

  3. Quite honestly, I wouldn't go back to that casino.  I've never had a situation like that happen to me - are you sure they are casino employees?????? Did they show you a badge or something that ID'd them as casino employees?  Believe it or not, there are a lot of con artists out there - even in casinos.

What I would do is get the number of the security director and call him/her from a pay phone and explain what happened to you.  Usually casino's don't like to lose money, but if they are unwilling to validate their statement, I don't think you should have to pay them back.  By calling the security director (from a phone different from your own) you are also validating whether or not these "employees" are legit or not.  If they are con artists, then I'm sure the security director would LOVE to know that bit of information.

If the problem persist, just don't go back to that casino!!!!

  4. sounds like you were being scammed big time...it's just like when you go to the store, and they give you ten dollars too much, etc..unless it is caught at that moment, forget it..and just like if they underpaid you...and you left and came back, too bad...I would go to another casino cuz it sounds like they are going to harrass you from now on...maybe because of the big win you had??

  5. yea make sure that those people that were asking you really works at that casino. and dont give them anything unless they sow u some proof! i know i wouldnt!

  6. For one, you are not entitled to pay the money back since it is the casinos mistake.   I have whitnessed several mistakes in live casino play that represent amounts over 100 dollars.  And one i even know security was watching because later they gave the guy and evil eye when they came to confront him for placing bets in other people side bet circles.  (They payed a guy 19:1 instead of 9:1 for a lucky ladies bonus on a 25 dollar bet)

I personally beleive that if a casion is fretting over a 100 dollar deviation, they ae not in a good buisness plan as the loss of you playing in the future probibly represents them losing much more than 100 dollars, i seriously doubt that the 100 dollars represents more than the profit margins they have on your play anyways.

Mistakes happen all the time in casinos, sometimes the players get extra money sometimes the casinos takes extra money by incorrectly paying a bet.  Either way  they shoudl not be blaming their mistakes on a player, especially days after it happened, its bad for buisness and you shoudl find a solid more professional casino to play in.

  7. sounds like you need to call the gaming commission...unless of course this is a native american casino then you have no recourse lol

  8. Im a manager in a casino and have had an employee who has overpaid someone by $100. i saw the surveillance tape and the next day when that player came back i approached him and explained what happened. he paid the money back i comped his dinner and everything was all good. the one problem is when an employee who is in charge of cash overpays someone then their bank ends up being "short" and the employee has to pay those shortages. luckily my guy got his 100 bucks back becuase the guy was nice enough to pay it back. had he not paid it back i would have barred him from the casino. if they keep hounding you more than likely that person just wants the money back they had to pay out.

  9. sounds bogus....dnt pay unless they give u solid proof

  10. casinos never make mistakes. it's a scam.

  11. If they accidentally overpaid you, legally it's not your problem. It was their mistake, and it's their loss. They certainly have the right to refuse to let you play since casinos in most places (except New Jersey) have the right to refuse to let you play for any reason, but if you do not pay them back, they cannot do anything about it. They cannot sue you or press criminal charges, even if they have you on tape.

I'd suggest you just find somewhere else to play. If this is for real, they're obviously going to keep hassling you about it, so there's no point in even trying to play their.

I don't know what the big deal is though. Casinos give out way more than $100 in comps to lots of people on a daily basis, and any good casino employee would know if they let you continue to play their they'd get their $100 plus a lot more back sooner or later.
