About maybe 5 days ago I got a system put into my car. and its all hooked up right because I hear it, and the car ran fine until like maybe a day ago. It only starts like every once in awhile. and like all the lights are really dim. so I'm pretty sure its something with he battery. what should i do to fix it?

  1. i think you just answered your own question, go buy a new battery but before you do get the car up to autozone might be the alternator, autozone provides free testing, get up there!!

  2. You  could have your wiring connected wrong, you radio could be pullin more power then your battery has avaiable. You can go to auto advance to check your battery and see how many amps you have . You probably gonna need a new battery or you can recharge the old one but it wont last that long

  3. are you sure you hooked it up right cause if you hooked the remote up direct then it will keep the amp on and drain the power from the battery slowly if not then your battery craped out.

  4. Check the alternator and the battery and the wiring job. One or more is messed up.

  5. several things might had happend in the installation.

to save you time, get your alternator tested. its possible that your audio equipment needed alot of power and killed the alternator. just FYI, the function of an alternator is to "recharge" the battery.

also, i think in autozone, you can get the battery tested as well. get it tested to know if the battery is still capable of "holding" a charge.

if you installed a stereo, make sure the ACC wire is connected to the ignition. this makes the stereo turn off when the car is off. other wise it will just drain your battery.

check the remote wire in your amplifier. make sure it turns off when the stereo is off.
