I just finished hooking up my 2 15" Kicker Comp (Yellow and black) subs with my 1200w F2600 Sound Storm Laboratories amplifier and it hits hard but it makes a weird knocking noise, kind of funny sounding but like a rubber ball bouncing off plywood.

I don't know how to tune frequency or anything along those lines so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, however I do have my Bass Boost turned all the way down because I heard that messes up your subs and voice coils.

  1. there are several things that can be the issue.

one being that you are running your kickers from a sound storm amp.

Sound storm amps like a lot of sub par amp companies over rate their amps. so while it says 1200 it probably has an RMS of 450-500 watts ( higher end amps would have at least 600 watts rms on a 1200 watt rated amp)  SOOOO you might be running your amp too hard.

the second thing to consider is your grounding situation. if the negative (-) lead is not well grounded the amp will basicly request unavailable power from your wireing and when it cant pull enough electricity because of an improper or inadequate ground the and can produce electrical signals into the subs causing our ball noise.
