I hooked up my pc to an old monitor but the wallpaper doesnt want to strecth to the edges. How can i do this?

well my computer came with an LCD monitor but it messed up. so i hooked it up to an old monitor from an older computer. But when i turned it on the wallpaper doesnt stretch out all the way its like small. how do i adjust this from the computer and not the monitor?

  1. well because older monitors don't it auto adjust so you have to do it your self.


  2. Depending on your operating system it is different. I will explain for Windows XP. Right click on your desktop and go to Properties. Then go to background. There should be an option fro stretch. Stretch the picture to fit screen.

  3. There are different things that could cause this, one of the PC and one on the computer.

    You can try right clicking on the desktop, selecting Properties, and going to the "Settings" tab.  Play around with the slide bar on the left center that sets the resolution.  Changing that will change the size of the display, and may allow it to fill the whole screen.

    But it is more likely the issue is with the monitor itself.  Each video card sends the picture to the monitor differently.  So the monitor often has to be adjusted to fit the video card.  This is usually done using button on the front of the monitor that allow you to adjust the size, location, etc.
