The Director of the Bianconeri outfit has reiterated that the club had not done anything unethical in their pursuit of signing the Bulgarian international.
A lot has been made up of Juventus hijacking the deal from Fiorentina in the closing days of the transfer window. There had been a great deal of interest in the services of the Bulgarian by the Florence based outfit, and news was rampant that the striker
would be making his way to the Viola outfit for the upcoming season.
Berbatov was all set to make his flight to Florence for his medical at the Gigliati outfit; however, reports suggest that Juventus came in with a bid which changed the mind of the striker and he delayed by stating that he would want to assess and analyse
all the proposals on the table.
However, eventually the striker snubbed approaches from both the sides as he chose to join Fulham. Juventus were actively hunting for a proven goal scorer, and after bids for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955 and Edin Dzeko fell; Juve turned to Berba. The
action subsequently complicated matters, and the Florence outfit have been extremely critical of the behaviour of the club who have been deemed unethical by the Viola.
Marotta is clean to clear the air over the situation involving Berbatov with Fiorentina, and he has stated his desire to hold talks with the owner of the Gigliati club and to let him know that Juve had not acted in vengeance.
He stressed that Berba had already made his decision before Juve came hunting for him and he was quoted to have said:
“I hope to come across President Andrea Della Valle soon so that we can clear up this Berbatov situation, but I want to underline that we didn’t do anything wrong towards Fiorentina.We made an enquiry after the player had already turned down the Viola, but
it all ended quickly because he told us that he preferred Fulham.”
Juve eventually signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. The loan option also has a stipulation which give Juve the option to sign the player permanently in the next season.
