I have hip pain since last year November. In the beginning it come and goes, but its worst now. I'm only 20 years and its very strange.

Its difficult to stand up straight or my movement is restricted. At the moment its hard to sleep at night cause my hip is in pain.

I told my Physician about it and he has send me for x-rays. The x-rays came back and theres NOTHING wrong.

I still have the pain, its at the back of my hip and its a catching pain.

If you know what this might be or have any other info it will be highly appreciated.

If i go to an orthopedic what will be the chances that he will want to perform a hip arthroscope?

Please help me

Thanks

  1. i am only 17 and have had two reconstructive hip surgeries.  i was born with hip dysplasia but it took them 4 years after i started complaining of pain to actually diagnose me.  you should go to a specialist because they see more than just a regular doctor.  its definitely worth it to get it fixed if you have hip pain so contact a specialist.  good luck.

  2. You have some bone out of place, i would be 99.9% sure. Go to a bone setter. If you live in Ireland, edit your details and tell me so i can give you a number.

  3. You may need to talk to an orthopedic doc about the whole hip pain issue.  Usually, they do different sets of x-rays than a family practice doc does.  The first step they try is Physical Therapy- you may have pulled something or strained something which can be treated conservatively.  If not, the doc might give you a steroid injection into the area, to see if that gives you relief.  Surgery is usually done after non surgical treatment fails.

The likelihood that you have surgery?  Unknown at this point.  It depends on what is actually going on.
