  1. You are young still.  Many kids these days over do it and seriously hurt themselves permanently by overdoing it as multi-sport athletes.

    I recommend that you rest it for a while (don't pitch or throw a football!).  Don't over do it in swim camp next week either.  If you have access to a trainer, talk to a trainer in camp.

    If your arms and shoulder muscles still hurt in 2 - 3 weeks then you ought to see a doctor who specialized in sports related injuries to get checked out.  The specialist can make a better determination of what you should do in the long term (like working with a PT or whatever).

  2. I hear there are these people called "Doctors" who might be able to give you better advise than random people on a baseball forum. Just Saying

  3. Your possible injury is probably due to a lack of proper pitching mechanics, but what interests me is what do you mean by pitching with your friends? What exactly do you do when you guys are out there? And yes you can still pitch and be a QB but understand that both motions are going to be different.

    Flexibility, mechanics, and a video camera will get you on your way to becoming a better pitcher. Now before you look away from this let me explain. I can bet good money that you are not as flexible as a gymnast so until you are you have not done your job on making yourself flexible, which will make it easier for your body to move when you throw the baseball.

    Personally I recommend plyometrics and other body exercises that bring good overall fitness to my clients . This will workout your entire body while making you more explosive in the process which is what you need to be a successful ballplayer. You will be quicker off the mound to field bunts, cover first, and backup throws. Also, you will have the potential to throw the ball with greater velocity. I say potential because you also need great timing and mechanics to use all that explosive training to its full potential. Go to this link http://theprospect09.googlepages.com and read the articles entitled "Pitching," "Why You Will Never Improve," and "Pitching Case Study" to find out more about what you can do to improve your game.

    Good luck with the training! Feel free to email me if you have any questions at theprospect09@gmail.com. Look forward to talking with you.

  4. i play catcher for highschool baseball and i often through out my arm all you did was agrivate your rotator cuff and or stretch your tricep, go up to wall mart and get this stuff called minerall ice if the pain is in the side of your arm, and if it hurts only where you say it hurts then go take a warm shower then immeadiately ice it, but the best thing for it is to prevent by warming up with light weights and stretching before throwing, it will still hurt for about 2 weeks but your fine its prob nothing serious

  5. stretch it out.

  6. Nick the very first think you need to do is see a doctor and see to what extent your injury is. If you keep playing or keep using your arm when injured, all you will do is extend the severity of the injury, if any. Then you need to start getting some additional instruction on how to pitch correctly. If you are playing youth baseball, you should only be throwing at the most three types of pitches, Those are the two seam fastball, four seam fastball and a change up. Then work hard on your location. If you can master changing speeds and location (think Greg Maddux), you will be light years ahead of other kids in your age group. Learning all those other pitches (curve balls, sinkers, forkballs) at a young age will only injure your arm and hurt any chance to advancing to higher levels. Hope this was helpful and good luck in your pitching career.

  7. I don't know I'm not a doctor but I think you should go to a doctors!

    Because it would be horrible if you broke something.

  8. use the RICE

    R=rest

    I=ice

    C=compress

    E=elevate

    also heat your arm so the recovery will become faster.

  9. Put Ice on it

  10. u should put a hot-cold patch on it.

  11. You need to ice your arm after you like throw or play football. + You can ice or back 2 or just take a tylenol. I am a softball pitcher and I need 2 ice my arm whenever I practice or after a game. Wrap your arm with anything but not tight with ice in it 2 because if you wrap it 2 tight even with ice under it you can lose circulation in your arm, happened 2 my dog once........ it wasn't very pretty. + YOU CAN ALSO DO STRECHES AFTER YOU ICE YOUR ARM. Good Luck
