Ok so I hurt my back and I just finished using a Target brand of icy hot patch (which works even better than the leading brand) and my shoulder/back area doesn't hurt so much anymore but I have volleyball practice tommorrow and I'm going to hav eto serve and spike. How should I wrap my shoulder and what should I use? Shuold I be like Kerri Walsh and use sports tape or should I use stretchy gauze? Plz help and plz tell how to wrap it or even show me a youtube vid. Any advice would help!

  1. I try my best to get 10 points. I suggest you get help from the professional. I had hurt my shoulder before and is getting worst until I meet a doctor. I think if you don't meet a doctor soon, I'm afraid you can't sleep comfortably.

  2. I wouldn't advise heat, it may make it feel better immediately afterwards however, it's likely to feel worse tomorrow.  I'd ice it immediately if I were you and continue to sporadically (3x a day) ice it (20 minutes) while taking some anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen.  Depending on the injury (and more often than not) icing reduces swelling, heat increases swelling.

If it hurts bad enough that movement causes continual sharp pains, then put your arm in a sling - find something to wrap around your head/neck on the opposite side with enough distance to hold your hurt shoulder side arm bent and in place.  If it's not that bad, it may just need rest - do nothing to aggravate it.

  3. in olive oil put a little turmeric and put on heat untill almost hot. fold a  thin cotton cloth 3 times and apply da paste onto it. it better be a large ammount of paste.put it overnight and sleep. in the mornin rinse with soap and dont leave your shoulder uncovered and fold it like it will touch the pain area.

  4. Volleyball at school?  Our school has a trainer that you can go to.  She would wrap it or chekc it out and give you advice. Take advantage of that if you have it.  Talk to your coach as well, he'/she can help you out and its a good idea to let the coach know your limitations with the pain.

  5. try to go to a chiropractor before then

  6. I would also suggest you to go to the chiropractor

    or the physiotherapist

  7. go see your athletic trainer before practice and have them wrap it... if you dont have a trainer then your coach should know how to do it. i would take some alieve before and after practice as well to help with the pain management.
