  1. i play hockey.. which is similar to roller blades, but i not in-line. try figure skating, that should work. for hockey their is a whole different trait of controlling the puck plus their are different types of skates. but the general movements are similar, yes

  2. The basic forward and backward skating will be the same.  The difference is in stopping.... in-line players make big turns and don't really stop, ice players make a hard hockey stop and can change direction quickly.  Once you develop good ice skating skills you will not be able to easily go back to in-line without hurting yourself so decide if that is really what you want.  You might find an in-line hockey team to play on and it is much cheaper.  On the other hand chicks really dig scars...

  3. They are way the same! The only thing is that its way more slippery. You cant make  big leg strokes. Same movement but short powerful pushes. That is just how is was for me.

  4. It is similar in just about all respects. You might feel like your feet are kind of wobbly on ice skates because you don't have 3-4 wheels touching the surface at once to keep you steady. You can stop quickly on in-line hockey skates, but the way you do it on ice skates is slightly different. If you're used to playing with good wheels, skates, and a good surface, than the transition might be easier than if you've only played basic street hockey.

  5. I really don't think ice skating and rollerblading are very similar, though there are some things that can be similar. You can learn how to skate fairly quickly with practice and trying to work hard. I would suggest trying so you can see what you think!
