I incurred medical expenses while in France. I have the nec. paperwork, how do I set about claiming back?

  1. Where are you now? If you're British, there is an agreement between the two countries but the rules are complicated. If you were there under 90 days, it's slightly different for you;

    If you're American (or I should say, covered under a private insurance company in the U.S.), check with your insurer. Mine required all forms must be translated. I got around this sticky issue by giving the doctor the translation myself and they printed it up on their stationary. I then turned that in as my receipt.

    If they gave you a brown and white "feuille des soins", it's useless in the U.S. Call up your insurer and ask for whomever handles international claims. Ask them directly for what they want, translated or not, etc. Different companies have different requirements.

    I don't know much about other nationalities.
