What I am experiencing is pain in the center of my foot when I try to move any of my toes. my middle toes does not want to move. It definitely hurts to walk. Once I apply pressure on my foot and stand there a moment is stops hurting. I have a tender and swollen area that hurts to touch in the center of my foot but no visible bruising. My ankle does not hurt. I can walk on it but not easily. So what I am wondering is 1) does this sound like a sprain? 2) I've been trying to find info online for treating a sprain foot but keep getting ankle websites. I want to wrap it in an ace to give it more support. I have already started the RICE treatment. Can anyone talk me through wrapping it in an ace to support the cneter tendons of m,y foot or help me find a website that will give me detailed instructions. I want to do this properly.

I can go to the doc/ER but I have to wait til this afternoon.

  1. Based upon the description of your injurious event, you probably just strained the plantar muscles in your foot. They probably flexed rapidly, spontaneously attempting to regain balance as you were knocked over by the wave. Instead of wrapping it, consider more rigid soled shoes and stretching.
