Hey, I would like to find out what I actually did to my knee today. I was playing soccer and went to kick the ball arkwardly. The area of my leg below the knee twisted and 'flicked'. Then I heard a 'click' sound in my knee followed by alot of pain. It's subsided now, but I can feel it now sitting still and when I walk. What happened?!!?

  1. You may have just twisted your knee, can be very sore. Twisting stress to a knee can damage the ligaments in the knee joint. You need to see a doctor to ensure no damage has been done. These kind of injuries can be quite serious and have implications if you play sport, so get yourself checked out to be on the safe side.

  2. You may have a small break.  Even if it is not broken your symptoms suggest a severe injury.  You need to see a doctor for an x-ray asap.

If the injury is not treated you may not be able to play anymore.

  3. You might well have dislocated your knee, or damaged your cartilage. I'm merely guessing though. Go to A&E & get your leg x rayed.

    Good Luck.X :-)

  4. you probably just caused the bones in your knee to hit off each other which will have caused some internal bruising.  it should right itself within a week or so but take more care in future or your footballing days will be over and you'll have aching knees.....like me
