I installed a new boat battery and now my gauges are not working correctly?

Question

I have a maxum 18' boat and replaced the battery. Does anyone know why the gauges would be acting crazy now that the new battery is installed? Everything was running great last year.

If the gauges are acting crazy the first thing I would suspect is a bad or loose ground wire.

Yeah make sure the terminals are right, sounds like a bad ground, make sure if it has more than one battery that it wasnt supposed to have a 6v batt,

did you hook up the terminals neg to neg, and pos to pos??
