I installed a wireless internet

Question

i installed a wireless internet card on my computer and installed the hardware i got off the internet that worked with the other computers i used it with and when i was done it kept saying that it wasn't "plugged" in so when i when to network connections to "enable" it there was not anything listed not even the LAN that we used to use
