Question:

I installed my xdvd8180 and it started smoking what could be wrong?

i went throught and check all the wires and they are right, why is it smoking?

  1. Unplug your negative (ground) from your battery, then unplug the stereo. Check that the fuses on the back are still working (not broken), and check the connections of ALL the wires. If you cut or spliced wires, two wires might be hiting, and they cause smoke and will burn themselves together...its a mess and not fun. Anytime you are working on the stereo though, unplug your battery so you don't risk having any power to the connections you are creating. Smoke is usually a sign of a bad wire connection or like I said, two wires that are touching at metal.


  2. MABYE YOU FRIED IT BURNT OUT FROM TOO MUCH POWER
