I interviewed for a federal job (IRS) three weeks ago - how long does it take to hear if I got the job?

To be more specific, it was a clerical job (secretary).

If you have already interviewed they will most likely send you a letter for rejection or calling you telling you that you got the job.  It also depends on how busy they are and how many candidates they had to choose from.

No matter what they should inform you in some way.

You don't say what kind of job you applied for.  From applying to reporting for duty, all government jobs can takes months.
