I am trying to start a group on yahoo. I have sent the invitation via the group page. People either don't get it or when they send it back, I don't get it to add them to the group. I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong or missing something.

  1. invites have been glitchy for just about a year, some get them, many never do, some providers see them as spam. you're not doing anything wrong, between yahoo and other servers, it's a glitch.

if your group is closed membership, you're then limited to invites.

if it is not, send them the direct link in e-mail and they can join per the the great big blue tab on the right Join This Group

  2. turn the except email thingy on lol

  3. send to me i wellcome

  4. You may add people to your group (BUT you have to do it WITH their permission)

How can I directly add (not invite) members to my group?

  5. Sometimes when the people don't get the e-mail invite it can mean that they have their membership to Yahoo Groups set up so as not to allow group owners of other groups to send invites to them.

As for the ones that do get it and send a reply back with a yes to join it could mean a technical problem is going on (there have been some technical issues over the last couple weeks with Yahoo Groups that is trying to get straightened out).  I would recommend getting in touch with a Yahoo Groups customer service representative as well to see if they can help you figure out what could be causing this.
