You received a welcome email with the groups homepage address on there.  If you signed up for individual emails, you'll begin receiving messages in your inbox.  If this is a LARGE group, you will get alot of email which is why the subject line is so important so you can just delete what doesn't interest you.  Otherwise, you can choose daily digest.
